ABOUT THE NON PROFIT: Founded in 2006, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation's mission is to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those affected by bile duct cancer. CCF supports basic and translational research and raises awareness in the cholangiocarcinoma community through advocacy, education, collaboration, and research.

As I Train for My Third Marathon, I’m Running for Another Cause That Hits Close to Home
Both of my parents were taken by cancer—my dad at just 57 from a fast-moving, untreatable form of lung cancer, and my mom at 69 from a rare cancer known as primary peritoneal, treated like ovarian cancer.I lost both of my parents to cancer— I miss them deeply every single day. What I wouldn’t give for just a little more time with them—to have seen them meet their grandchildren, celebrate milestones, and witness the beautiful lives their siblings, nieces, and nephews continue to build. They've missed far too much.
This year, as I train for my third marathon, I’ll be running the 2025 Chicago Marathon in support of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation—raising awareness and funds for a cause that holds deep meaning for countless families affected by rare and aggressive cancers.
Cholangiocarcinoma, or bile duct cancer, is often diagnosed too late and offers patients limited treatment options. It's a devastating diagnosis that urgently needs more awareness, earlier detection, and greater investment in research. With your support, we can help change that reality. This foundation provides essential support for patients and their families, invests in promising research, and drives advocacy efforts that save lives. And now, I’m joining them.
